Today we wrote our own subtraction stories. Our knowledge of sentences really helped us! Our stories started with 2 sentences that tell (how much we started with and how many are taken away) and ended with a sentence that asks (how many are left). I also asked for the correlating number sentence that included their unit (what they are counting). They did a FABULOUS job!
I graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a B.S. in Education. I've taught both private and public school for 20 years. I was an active neighborhood parent at Mark Twain (now my daughter is starting middle school at Pin Oak!)...and am proud to teach there, too! I am excited about providing a challenging inquiry based experience as well as creating a caring, reflective and supportive classroom community.
