good news for HISD

It's great news when the President of the United States is so impressed with what HISD is doing that he praises us in a major speech. Apparently yesterday, President Barack Obama outlined his plans for education reform in a speech to the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In his remarks, he commended HISD's use of a growth model to determine how much academic growth a student makes from year to year, to identify strengths and weaknesses so that our teachers can build on strengths and intervene early on to turn weaknesses into strengths.
