This week we celebrated Chinese New Year in our classroom by watching a family on unitedstreaming.com get ready for their new year, watching a lion dance performed by another class, making our own Chinese lanterns and dragon puppets, reading stories from China and learning to count to 10 in Chinese. The Year of the Ox will be prosperous for us!

Cute photos, Monica! Did the kids make the big dragon head?!
I graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a B.S. in Education. I've taught both private and public school for 20 years. I was an active neighborhood parent at Mark Twain (now my daughter is starting middle school at Pin Oak!)...and am proud to teach there, too! I am excited about providing a challenging inquiry based experience as well as creating a caring, reflective and supportive classroom community.
